Irving Gottesman

Irving I. Gottesman (b. Dec. 29, 1930, Cleveland, OH, United States) is a psychiatric geneticist who devoted most of his career to the study of the genetics of schizophrenia. The Web of Science lists over 200 articles in peer-reviewed journals that have been cited over 8000 times, with an h-index of 47.[1] Gottesman is currently professor emeritus at the University of Minnesota, where he received his Ph. D.

Awards

In 1990, Gottesman received the Dobzhansky Lifetime Achievement Award from the Behavior Genetics Association,[2] followed in 1997 by the Lifetime Achievement Award of the International Society for Psychiatric Genetics,[3] and in 2007 by the Gold Medal Award for Life Achievement in the Science of Psychology from the American Psychological Foundation.[4]
